Dear Mr. Smith,
I am appalled that Starbucks would consider the name HaidaBucks
to be an infringement on its name. I can well understand your
companys desire to protect its trademark, but this time
you have gone too far. HaidaBucks is a local, indigenous-owned
enterprise started by four young brothers. Hence, the bucks
part of their name. Your company pretends to honor, and commit
itself to, indigenous peoples, and yet you attack an indigenous
company merely because they dare to use Bucks as part of their
name. This is absolutely inconsistent.
For the record, I have spent an average of <inset amount>
a week at local Starbucks shops for the past <fill in number>
years. I will boycott Starbucks and encourage friends, family,
and clients to do the same. My company takes pride in its ethics
and its desire to help small businesses improve themselves. I
cannot in good conscience support a company that is so obviously
opposite of my own.
Wake up and smell the coffee, Mr. Smith. This operation will only
hurt your good name, and your profits. Shame on you and your lawyers!
Sincerely,
<sign your
name>
